Purple Power

27/10/2016 Leave a comment

Green for the environment. Pink for gay people. Purple for disabled people. You may have heard of all three colours and their representations. However purple and disability is definitely a newer one for me. It’s a very clever idea too. For many people, including disabled people, it may be scoffed at. Why will putting a… Continue Reading

Who Cares?

24/10/2016 Leave a comment

I usually like to start the week on a light hearted, leisurely and lovely vibe. Unfortunately there’s an ongoing problem that has become too frustrating to ignore. The topic of care! Ever since I was born I’ve not been able to walk. Moreover I’ve always needed help to turn at night, get dressed, use the… Continue Reading

The Struggle

20/10/2016 Leave a comment

I heard a story before about a guy fishing in a remote lake. Whether it was true I’m unsure and who told me I can’t recall. However the story was of a city slicker visiting this beautiful lake for a holiday, and he spotted a fisherman. The story goes on that the fisherman was prolific,… Continue Reading

Don’t Deny Your True Self

13/10/2016 Leave a comment

When we are growing up our parents and teachers give us guidance. People often debate the benefits of structure v self discovery. Good parents and good teachers give us both. We need enough parameters to get started and have some direction. However we also need space and time to understand ourselves. Our dreams, our likes,… Continue Reading

Changing the World: For Beginners

06/10/2016 Leave a comment

Under my email signature it says ‘World Changer’. A very grand statement that can appear arrogant or apply an unnecessary amount of pressure. However my interpretation and intention is neither of these. At the moment I’m trying to arrange transport in Poland for December. It’s so we can see my Kasia’s parents over Christmas this… Continue Reading

Visiting Homelands Trust in Scotland

24/09/2016 Leave a comment

I’m often found on social media discussing accessible travel, and inclusion in general. It’s less usual to find accessible accommodation vendors mingling in the same social media buzz. So when Jan Kerr from Homelands trust in Fife kept appearing in the same facebook groups, I was very interested to hear more about their luxury accommodation… Continue Reading

Accessible Poland

03/07/2016 1 Comment

Having arrived from our long drive from Spain, we recovered in the beautiful nature of West Poland. I also caught up on my work, and managed to read a book or two – which is unusual! I was asked by Lonely Planet to present on a couple of their #TravelforAll Periscopes. Unfortunately the Periscope comments… Continue Reading

Gondolas4All in Venice

03/07/2016 Leave a comment

One of the highlights from this trip has to be going in a Gondola! Venice was such a beautiful and historic city. Naturally the Italian food was delicious. However to adapt a gondola for a 130kg wheelchair is unthinkable. As you’ll see once again – everything is possible. You can watch all the action in… Continue Reading
