These past few days have been amazing. Having some space from the day to day routine. Reflecting on the year that’s about to finish. Making new plans and dreaming big for 2024. Hanging with loved ones over the festive period.
My social media usage and content creation has always been for my purpose and passion around disability inclusion. Of course I’ve written and shared some things about friends and family over the years. But it’s never been my personal focus online.
Having written a couple of year end posts about some of my personal challenges and about Purple Goat as a change making business – I felt really compelled to write something about those I’m close to away from work.
This year my nanna passed away. In reflecting on her life and legacy it’s made me really think about my memories of her and other family members no longer with us. As well as appreciating and not taking for granted those still around us. It’s sometimes hard to keep in touch with everyone and tell others we’re thinking of them. But this is something I want to be more mindful of next year.
I feel very lucky and grateful for the family and friends I have in my life. Especially the ones who challenge me more to grow and yet keep my feet (wheels) on the ground. The fun, joy and happiness we’ve all had in these photos and beyond is awesome.
Having come out the other side of a tough patch I’m really looking forward to 2024 and pushing forward across all parts of my life now in my 40s. I’ve got a good feeling about the year ahead and the decade and the life ahead of me.
Happy new year all. See you very soon
