Keynote in Bristol

Last Tuesday, I had the privilege of delivering the keynote speech for the West of England Centre for Independent Living (WECIL) at the inspiring We The Curious venue in Bristol. Events like these remind us how important it is to come together, share ideas, and drive change within larger networks.

I was invited because of a talk I previously gave in Manchester, showcasing how every step in our work opens new doors and builds momentum for even greater impact.

During my speech, I discussed the business case for inclusion and how we work at Purple Goat to engage brands. I also shared my background in activism and our work at the Purple Collective, which focuses on mobilising individuals and organisations toward meaningful change on issues like social care and accessibility.

One of the real highlights was connecting with other speakers and attendees, seeing firsthand the energy and commitment they bring. Huge thanks to the organisers and everyone involved in creating such an impactful event. I’m excited to see the influence these connections will have on advancing accessibility and inclusivity in Bristol and beyond.
