Disability Inclusion Manifesto

“Disability inclusion isn’t just a ‘nice-to-have.’ It’s a transformative approach to building a better world—when disabled people are fully included, society gains valuable perspectives, economic growth, and a richer culture.”

This quote is from my recently published Disability Inclusion Manifesto and encapsulates the vision I’ve been working towards my entire life.

A portrait of Martyn Sibley, a man smiling warmly while sitting in his wheelchair, wearing a colorful check shirt. Overlaid on the image is a powerful quote: "Disability inclusion isn’t just a 'nice-to-have.' It’s a transformative approach to building a better world—when disabled people are fully included, society gains valuable perspectives, economic growth, and a richer culture." The quote is attributed to Martyn Sibley. The text is prominently displayed in white on a black overlay, ensuring readability against the vibrant image.

The manifesto outlines six key pillars for creating an inclusive society:

1 Meeting Basic Needs

2 Supporting Independent Living

3 Promoting Lifelong Learning

4 Unlocking Economic Contribution

5 Enabling Civic Participation

6 Opening Up Leisure and Tourism

It’s a personal roadmap informed by my lived experience, my career, and the countless incredible disabled people I’ve had the honour of working alongside. But more than that, it’s an invitation—to governments, businesses, and individuals—to join the movement for true inclusion.
