Another Year Rocks By

On Thursday I’m turning another year older. Kasia is only one day older than me too. So we’re planning a nice week together. Aside from working bank holiday Monday, Tuesday and Friday on the awesomeness that is Accomable; this week is looking double great!

Wednesday we’re hoping to visit a National Trust property with Mum and Dave, before eating at our favourite restaurant at the moment – Zizzis. I can’t get enough of that chilli oil. Then Thursday we’re planning another day out doing cultural and mature things. Followed by the cinema. Oh how tastes can change…

As much as these days mark a celebration of being a year older, and will be pure fun; it defines what I see as a significant shift in my life.

Ever since leaving my day job in London back in 2011, my waking and sleeping hours have been consumed with thoughts of work and survival. Whilst I’ve still got the same drive and passion to take Disability Horizons and Accomable to the stars; I’m feeling this wave of content.

Despite many tough times and dark moments, I realise how important it is to have a place to call home. To have received my new adapted car (video blog coming soon!). To have so many beautiful people in my life. To have some regular income (for spending on occasions like this week). To have had an amazing year with so many experiences, people, and places having enriched me. It’s simply fantastic.

I feel grateful and a huge appreciation for this feeling.

How about you? Despite the gloomy UK bank holiday weekend did you have fun? Any big plans for September? ☺
