The River of Change

For as long as I can remember, disability inclusion has been the spring at the source of my journey. It’s where the first currents of purpose and action were born. Deeply personal, fiercely necessary, and beautifully human.

Over time, as the seasons of life and work have flowed forward, I’ve found myself navigating a river that has widened. The focus is still clear: making the world more inclusive, more equitable, more accessible, for everyone.

But the river now touches more shores. It reaches into leadership, into social entrepreneurship, into activism, into creative expression. It flows into broader conversations about resilience, adaptability, sustainability, and the power of community.

This is where the Purple Changemaker Playbook was born.

It’s not a departure from the source, it’s a natural continuation. It’s a map built from the same waters, now flowing into a wider world where changemakers of all kinds, disabled and non-disabled, are building the future we need.

The Playbook is built around five key pillars:

Vision – because every journey starts with clarity.

Influence – because movements are built by connection and courage.

Resilience – because storms will come, and we need to know how to find shelter and then move forward again.

Execution – because dreams need action to take flight.

Sustainability – because change must last beyond one person, one project, or one moment.

And just like any real river journey, it’s not about constant rushing. Sometimes we need to find coves to rest and recharge. Sometimes we brave the rapids, and other times we glide on smooth waters. But the movement, the possibility, the life, they are always there.

Today, I stand proudly rooted in the source of disability inclusion, and equally excited by the broader flow of global changemaking.

If you feel called to make a difference, whether as a social entrepreneur, an activist, a creative, or simply a human being who believes a better world is possible. I invite you to journey with me.
