Today was an unforgettable experience as I rolled through the doors of 10 Downing Street! As a child, I often pondered whether a building with this global significance could be accessed by wheelchair users—and here I am. The building was very accessible, with portable ramps, accessible restrooms, normal lifts, and even a fantastic Sesame lift for interior steps. I also got a glimpse of the Prime Minister’s study and the iconic cabinet room.
The meeting I attended was filled with business and marketing leaders, and I loved being involved in such a holistic inclusive capacity. It was particularly great to bring the disability conversation into the mix, ensuring it remains part of the broader discussion on communication and representation in modern government.
After a rich discussion and meeting some like-minded individuals, I’m excited to see the great things that will come from today’s conversation.
