Hello everyone! Since the wedding six weeks ago, life has been wonderfully busy with some exciting social activities. I had an amazing time at the Pink concert, enjoyed the elegance of Royal Ascot with Proximo, and so far I’m thrilled at the Euro 2024 Football Championships. It’s been lots of fun socially, and now I’m excited to share some updates about my work.
Purple Power
I’m thrilled to announce some new plans for my content under Purple Power. This will include posts, articles, videos, and my podcast, all focusing on a wide range of topics under disability inclusion. I’ll be speaking with disabled changemakers, highlighting varying challenges and solutions, and generally working towards creating a world that’s inclusive and beneficial for everyone. I’m really excited about what’s to come in this space.
Purple Goat Agency
The brilliant Purple Goat Agency continues to make great progress. Lately, I’ve been focusing more on PR, aiming to get our name and the agency’s brand in front of PR and marketing professionals within the industry. This has involved a lot of engagement with the trade press, which has been really fun.
I’ve also been working closely with our business development executive, Louis, on reaching out to certain brands we’d like to collaborate with. We’re figuring out how we can bring more value to their business and marketing objectives, which has been a fantastic experience.
A huge shout-out to the entire PG team for their hard work and to the senior management team – Dan, Dom, Harriet, and Dani – whose support makes Purple Goat flourish.
Ad hoc Projects
I get asked to work on so many things that I just don’t have the bandwidth for on top of running Purple Goat, but I do carve out a little time for projects with synergy to the larger mission and where I have a particular passion. Here are some of the key projects I’ve been involved in recently:
– Proximo: My non-executive director role at Proximo continues to thrive, with significant progress in our work with Motability and Open Road Access.
– SMA UK: I’ve been assisting the charity for my disability Spinal Muscular Atrophy, yesterday providing input on a government consultation about personal independence payment (PIP) reform.
– Lilac Review and Creo: I’m actively involved in the steering group for the Lilac Review and for Creo, supporting disabled startups and founders. Creo will be launching an Incubator, which I’ll share more about in the near future.
– Citizen(ing) and Politics: I’ve been forging new relationships with local and national figures in the citizen and politics world, contributing to important discussions and initiatives around disability representation.
Thank you all for your continued support and interest in my journey. There’s so much good stuff happening, and I’m excited to share it with you!
Exciting News Ahead
I’m also involved in setting up a disability cooperative, with more news to follow soon. Stay tuned!
